Hydrangea Flowering Plant Plant Care
Watering
Water every 2-3 days when top 2" of soil is dry. Keep soil moist at all time.
Light
Hydrangeas thrive in partial shade to full sun, although too much direct sunlight can scorch their leaves
Temperature
They prefer temperatures between 60 to 70°F (15 to 21°C) but can tolerate slightly cooler or warmer conditions
Soil Mix
A rich, fertile soil mix with good drainage is ideal for hydrangeas; adding organic matter can improve soil structure and water retention.
Humidity
They appreciate moderate humidity levels, so misting the leaves during dry periods can be beneficial
Fertilizer
Fertilize hydrangeas with a balanced fertilizer in spring, just before new growth begins, and again in midsummer to support blooming.
Toxicity
While hydrangeas are not considered highly toxic, they may cause stomach discomfort if ingested, so it's best to keep them out of reach of children and pets.
